About This Document
This Privacy Policy applies to:
- QBOID Mobile Dimensioning Devices - Our standalone Android-based dimensioning hardware (including M2 and future models) and applications
- QBOID Cloud - Our optional cloud service for data storage and access
For information about our company website (qboid.ai), please refer to our separate Website Privacy Policy.
1. Introduction
Who We Are
QBOID INC ("QBOID," "we," "us," or "our") is a technology company that provides dimensioning solutions for logistics and supply chain operations. We are headquartered at:
QBOID INC
5273 Prospect Rd, Suite #120
San Jose, CA 95129, USA
Phone: +1 (408) 419-1449
Email: [email protected]
What We Provide
We offer two complementary products:
1. QBOID Mobile Dimensioning Devices
Our standalone Android-based devices (current model: M2; future models: M4, etc.) that run specialized dimensioning applications:
- Parcel App: For package dimensioning with pre-configured data collection (dimensions, weight, barcodes, optional images). Always stores data locally by default.
- Pallet App: For pallet dimensioning with pre-configured data collection. Always stores data locally by default.
- WorkFlows App: Fully customer-configurable workflows where you define what data to collect, from which sources (including external peripherals), where to store it (local storage is optional), and where to send it (including multiple destinations such as endpoints, cloud services, or printers).
All devices operate without requiring internet connectivity. For all applications, you control whether and where data is transmitted: QBOID Cloud, your own endpoints, both, or nowhere.
2. QBOID Cloud
An optional cloud service that, when you choose to enable it, securely receives, stores, and provides access to the data transmitted from any of the three applications.
Our Commitment
We are committed to protecting your privacy and securing your data. This document explains our privacy practices in clear, straightforward language.
2. Our Privacy Principles
Data Minimization by Design
Our products are designed to minimize the collection of personal information:
- Our devices capture only operational data necessary for dimensioning operations
- We do not collect payment card information (PCI data)
- We do not collect protected health information (PHI)

Customer Control
You own your data. We provide you with complete control over your data:
- Device data is stored locally on your device under your control (Parcel/Pallet always store locally; WorkFlows storage is configurable)
- QBOID Cloud is entirely optional
- You decide what data to capture and whether to enable cloud synchronization
- For all applications: You control data destinations (QBOID Cloud, your own endpoints, both, or nowhere)
- You can access, export, or delete your data at any time
Transparency
We believe in clear communication about our data practices. This policy explains:
- What data we collect and why
- How we protect your data
- Your rights regarding your data
- How to contact us with questions

- Providing the services you requested
- Automated system monitoring and security scanning
- Data quality monitoring and integrity checks
- Detecting misuse, fraud, or abuse

- Complying with legal obligations
5. Data Storage and Location
5.1 Device Storage
Local Storage:
- Parcel and Pallet Apps: All captured data is automatically stored locally on your device by default (with optional cleanup policies you can configure)
- WorkFlows App: Local storage is entirely configurable—data is stored locally only if you configure your workflow to do so
- When stored locally, data is protected by Android full-disk encryption
- Access is controlled through Android OS authentication
- You control physical access to the device
Your Responsibility:
- You manage user authentication (password, PIN, biometric)
- You control backup and export of locally-stored device data
- You may optionally use Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions for additional security
5.2 QBOID Cloud Storage
Infrastructure:
- Hosted on secure cloud infrastructure
- Two regional instances available:
- US Region: https://customers.qboid.ai/ (data stored in United States)

- You choose which region to use when setting up your account
- Data remains in your selected region
- Encrypted in transit using TLS/HTTPS

Important Notice:
QBOID Cloud is provided as a free service with no Service Level Agreement (SLA). You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of critical data. Important limitations of the free service:
- No guaranteed uptime or availability
- No guaranteed data retention period - we may implement automatic deletion of older data in the future
- Backups performed for operational purposes only, not guaranteed
- Data loss is possible at any time
- We strongly recommend regularly exporting your data from QBOID Cloud (available in Excel or ZIP format with images) or maintaining copies on your local devices
- Different service tiers with enhanced features and guarantees may be introduced in the future
5.3 Customer-Defined Destinations
For Users Who Configure Custom Data Destinations:
If you configure any of our applications (Parcel, Pallet, or WorkFlows) to send data to your own endpoints or third-party systems:
- Data sent to customer-defined endpoints is not stored in QBOID Cloud unless you separately configure QBOID Cloud as an additional destination
- QBOID does not control or have access to data sent to customer endpoints
- Security and privacy of customer endpoints are your responsibility or the responsibility of your chosen service provider
- You are responsible for ensuring your endpoints comply with applicable data protection regulations
Note: While all applications support customer-defined destinations, the WorkFlows app provides the most flexibility in configuring multiple destinations, data sources (including external peripherals), and complex data routing (including to printers or other output devices).
6. Data Sharing and Disclosure
6.1 No Sales of Operational Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your operational data (measurements, barcodes, images, or other data collected through QBOID devices or stored in QBOID Cloud) to third parties.

We do not sell contact lists. However, we may share business contact information with select partners for legitimate business purposes such as:
- Joint marketing initiatives with complementary solution providers
